Saving Energy and Environment Activities Fiscal Year 2013-2014

project2013_1The “MUIC Loves the Earth: Planning to be ECO University 2013 – 2014” activity was held on October 12-13, 2013 at Bangkhonthee District, Samutsongkram Province by former and new officers of the committee. The purpose was to brainstorm and plan for the coming year’s saving energy activities.

project2013_2Closing ceremony: The turnover ceremony of the used carons for the “84 Green Roofs to Celebrate the King’s 84th Birthday Project” was held on December 19, 2012.

project2013_4MUIC’s campaign “Double Reuse Project” encourages everyone in the College to reuse papers whose one side has been used. These papers can be used one more time to reduce trash and save energy to produce more papers. Once both sides of the paper have been used already, they will be sold to the Recycle Bank of Mahidol University. Information about this project was distributed via email to all College sections on February 26, 2013 and campaign will run until September 30, 2013.

project2013_5Sleep Mode Project (Saving Electricity)
MUIC launched the “Sleep Mode Project” to encourage electricity saving among members of the MUIC community by asking them to set their PCs to sleep mode when not in use for a long time. The information was distributed via email on March 14, 2013 and the campaign will run until September 30, 2013.

The Opening Ceremony of “MUIC Loves the Earth: Go Green, Live Green Project
project2013_6The event aimed to share to all MUIC staff members and students the knowledge about energy saving and maintaining MU’s status as an Eco University. It was held on March 21, 2013.

The Refill Reduce Reuse Project
This project aims to encourage MUIC staff members and students to use their own mugs instead of paper or plastic cups to reduce the amount of garbage. project2013_7 Details about this campaign is posted on Mahidol’s website.

MUIC encourages its students to save energy in the Study Lounge.

The Environment and Energy Saving Committee posted information and updates on energy saving activities on the exhibition board in front of the Office of Administration, 2nd floor, Building 1, MUIC.

Projects and activities of the Environment and Energy Saving Committee are published in KaleidoScope, MUIC’s official newsletter.

Garbage Separating Project was a project that encouraged everyone to practice garbage separation as part of MUIC’s garbage management which it would help MUIC maintain a good environment.project2013_13
