Several MUIC students and alumni have been honored for their achievements in the field of Computer Science in 2009.
At the TrueApp Center Awards in November, Mr. Akaraphan Janetheerapong, a senior in the computer science program, was awarded 2nd place in the iPhone category for his “Trap Room” application. Also competing in the iPhone category, Mr. Suwitcha Sugthana (MUIC Computer Science, Class of 2008) was awarded a consolation prize for his application “The Mall Group”. This competition, the first to be hosted by the TrueApp Center, fielded a total of 81 contestants in four categories - iPhone, Blackberry, Symbian and Android.
On June 2nd, Mr. Thongrop Podsavas, also a computer science senior, took second place at the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Olympics. The Microsoft Olympics hosted 209 competitors between the Microsoft Word 2007 and Microsoft Excel 2007 competitions.
This month Mr. Ekachai Boonsathienwong, another MUIC senior, will return from 10 months of study at Daejeon University in South Korea. Mr. Boonsathienwong is the second MUIC student to receive a full scholarship for one academic year from Daejeon University and ASEAN-ROK courtesy of The International College Student Exchange Programme between Korea and ASEAN Nations. Mr. Tanis Suwannakul was the first MUIC student to receive this honor in 2008.
